During the Opening Ceremony, the drummers led Londoners’ heartbeats to a swell with pride. We were never going to equal Beijing for precision or pyrotechnics but the 2012 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony was quintessentially London. A celebration of the history enriched by  struggles for equality and respect for diversity; the healthy multiculturalism which makes up the (slightly scruffy) city we love. London is the city that everyone who comes here can choose to call  ‘home’.

Our guests in BETSEY, visiting from Australia (this apartment, in Clerkenwell, seems particularly appealing to visitors from Australia and New Zealand) took the time and trouble to send Big Red London photographs, live from the Opening Ceremony, with more to come from other events. We are so grateful to them for their kindness and consideration. Their pictures made the evening even more special for us, at home, watching on tv.

Receiving pictures from the Opening Ceremony made us feel that we really had played a small part in this great, big London 2012 Olympic event. We are excited and sincerely delighted to have provided excellent accommodation for Olympic visitors to London.
